IT’S A SHIRT is a personal narrative centered on unisex shirts and garments for the upper body. Rooted in a family heritage of tailoring and garment production in Greece since the 1980s, Christina and her father continue the story that began with her mother and uncle. In a time when craftsmanship is increasingly fading in Greece, they strive to create shirts that endure both practically and aesthetically. While they don’t explicitly aim for sustainability, IT’S A SHIRT is true to its values, navigating its journey organically.
The first shirts they crafted for friends in 2018 were made from leftover fabric cuts. Today, they operate from a small store in the heart of Athens, where they are dedicated to blending high-quality fabrics sourced from Greece, Europe, such as Italy, Switzerland, and vintage dead-stock with unisex cuts and designs, catering to the contemporary genderless wardrobe. They’re production is a short drive from the city center. IT’S A SHIRT is poly prismatic embracing values that transcend seasonal trends, focusing on slow production processes and unique textures. It is about collaborations, humor, simplicity, timelessness, and gender neutrality. They seek to connect with individuals who appreciate the stories woven into the garments they wear.
